Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten is unique in cruising — its core product, the Norwegian Coastal Express, is a working ship that delivers mail, cargo and passengers along Norway's coast on a 12-day round trip that has run continuously since 1893. Passengers can join any of 34 ports along the route for as little as one night.

Hurtigruten Expeditions, the company's expedition arm, runs purpose-built hybrid-electric expedition ships in Antarctica, the Arctic, Galapagos and West Africa. Both products attract a heavily European clientele, with a working-ship aesthetic that prioritises destination over onboard entertainment.
