P&O Cruises
Founded: 1837
Headquarters: Southampton, United Kingdom
Fleet: 7 ships
P&O Cruises is Britain's oldest cruise line, founded in 1837 (the year Victoria became Queen) and is virtually synonymous with British cruising. Every cruise departs from Southampton, so there are no flights to catch โ passengers drive to the port and step aboard a floating piece of Britain.
Onboard is British through and through: sterling-priced bars, full English breakfast, afternoon tea, gameshow nights, and a polite reserved atmosphere. Iona and Arvia are the two newest large ships, designed specifically for the UK market. The line is owned by Carnival Corporation but operates independently from its American sister brand of the same name.
